Mississauga Code Club offers a variety of robotics programs targeting kids 8 -12 and youth 12 -18. The robotics programs begin by introducing kids to coding and robotics by using Scratch and mblock. Then, they continue to progress in their learning to build electric circuits and complete robotic project in advanced stages by Arduino board. Throughout the program, learners use a variety of robotics kits and devices including Arduino, Circuit Playground, and Mblock. This approach enhances learning flexibility and the ability to work with different platforms, and insure that coding and robotics learning which forms the heart of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is accessible to most kids and youth in our community.
The Coding and Robotics program is designed to provide kids ( age 8 -12) the opportunity to learn the magic of making cool stuff such as games, apps, and robots. Coding and Robotics is an awesome opportunity for children to develop their making, crafting and coding skills. Hopefully, they start mapping a bright future as innovators, change makers and entrepreneurs.
Maker Club for Kids is designed to introduce kids to critical skills in design thinking, coding and making. Kids will be engaged in activities designed to teach 21st century skills through working with craft materials, circuits playground, code with blocks, electronics, and of course peers, and other makers. Over time, this type of maker learning changes how kids perceive themselves in the surrounding world.
In this course, children will discover the world of coding and physical computing by using Circuit Playground. They will learn the basics of coding and physical computing. In addition, they will be able to explore, play and interact with LEDs, buttons and variety of sensors. Moreover, they will play and interact with a variety of inputs (motion, and sounds), light animations and more.
In this course, children will enhance their skills in coding and physical computing by using Circuit Playground and working with Java Script and blocks. They will deepen their understanding of foundation coding concepts through JavaScript and physical computing. In this transition course from blocks to the world of real code with JavaScript, kids will be introduced to more concept in coding such as variables, conditions and loops in JavaScript.

App inventor is a fun way for kids to learn mobile apps for Android platform. It is designed to help young learners to dive into the world of programming. The software allows learners create animations, stories, games and apps with building blocks that mimic the structure of computer code. In this session kids will learn: App inventor designer and block editor, How to set up your phone for live testing, Talk to Me: Text-to-Speech App and more
